Maple Society Newsletter

Since 1991

For over 30 years, The International Maple Society has been producing a comprehensive Newsletter packed with informative and educational articles about all things Acer. Learn more about the newsletter's history:

Instructions for Contributors

The Maple Society Newsletter accepts contributions in any area of horticulture, silviculture, cultivars, conservation, dendrology, taxonomy, ecology, botany, and landscaping related to maples. It is published quarterly, and is not restricted to any particular geographic area.

 

The contributions must be written for a general audience.

 

The Newsletter also includes field trip announcements or reports, garden visit reports, book reviews, obituaries, meetings and conferences announcements or reports, tools and garden aids, and members correspondence.

Submission Deadlines

Spring issue:   January 21

Summer issue:  April 21

Fall issue:  July 21

Winter issue:  October 21

Required Format

Articles

Contributions must be submitted to the Editors in Microsoft Word format, must consist of at least 1500 words, and include:

  • Title

  • Author's Name

  • Author's Email Address

  • Short article abstract of 30 words

  • Main text with references if appropriate

  • Figures or photographs with captions. These can be sent as separate files, in .jpg or .tif format

  • Units must follow the International System of Units

  • Scientific names must be in italics

Other Contributions

Other types of contributions must consist of at least 500 words and include:

  • Title

  • Author's Name

  • Author's Email Address

  • Short article abstract of 30 words

  • Main text

  • Figures or photographs with captions. These can be sent as separate files, in .jpg or .tif format

  • Units must follow the International System of Units
